The Schtick: This is a private selection of a Copper and Kings Pheonix Barrel. Using old sherry barrels to stoke fire for recharring old barrels, C&K finishes their brandy for a period of time. Selected by Bourbon and Rye Society, this should be an interesting one. Let’s dive in.

ABV: 63% ABV

Age: NAS

Nose: Plum, oak, tobacco, rich sweetness. Blackberry, molasses, currant.

Taste: Thick, rich and sweet. Syrupy, powerful. Pipe tobacco, oak, currant. Syrupy blackberry, cocoa, vanilla, rich concord grape. Figs, dates.

Finish: Long, rich and powerful. Oaky, blended with sweet syrupy fruits and cocoa.

Overall: Powerful, complex, a total winner.
