Review #1314 – Rey Campero Jabali

The Schtick: This expression from Rey Campero is distilled using Jabali Agave, a seldom used strain for the most part. Distilled by Romulo Sanchez Parada using copper, this foam cannon of an agave is sure to be interesting. Let’s give it a go.

Review #1314 | Mezcal Review #41

Distiller: Romulo Sanchez Parada

Bottler: Rey Campero

Selection: N/A

ABV: 49.2% ABV

Age: NA

Nose: Big, fruity, loaded with hickory, faint smoke, faint plastic.

Taste: Sweet, lots of creamy sweetness before a fruity boquet. Some hickory, some light smoke, mostly a bright, sweet fruit bomb. Kiwi, pear, mango, banana runts.

Finish: Long, complex and sweet. Almost a faint mintiness to pair with the fruit and wood.

Overall: Interesting, unique, complex. Lots going on, all of it good and also interesting. Jabali is wild in the best way.

Thanks for reading!
