Review #1340 | Mezcal Review #49

Distiller: Pedro Hernandez

Bottler: Koch Mezcal

Brand: Koch Mezcal

Selection: Pedro Hernandez

ABV: 47% ABV

Age: NA

Nose: Sweet, fruity, corn forward. Confectioners sugar, mild clay, some dirty and pepper.

Taste: Thin on the palate – not a ton going on, but it’s pleasant. Melon, pepper, faint smoke. ABV feels about right.

Finish: Short to medium in length – sweet, some charcoal and some burning wood. The smoke isn’t agressive, and wisps away cleanly.

Overall: Overall I like this – it far exceeded my expectations for a bottling so inexpensive.
