Review #1362 | Mezcal Review #56

Distiller: Don Rogelio Martinez Cruz, Leopoldino Miranda

Bottler: Del Maguey

Brand: Del Maguey

Selection: N/A

ABV: 46% ABV

Age: NA

Nose: Hugely sweet and fruity bouquet on the nose. Mango, pineapple, lightly meaty, loaded with minerals and sweetness. One of the most vibrantly fruity noses I’ve encountered.

Taste: Sweet and creamy. Minerality, fresh pineapple. Apple, pear, faint smoke. Some clay. Lightly woody. So much going on.

Finish: Long, powerfully ashy. The fruitiness from the nose is gone and this transforms into a crushed stone and ash smoke bomb on the departure.

Overall: Wow, really interesting. Starting fruity, ending smoky. Quite the transition. Delightful.

Thanks for reading!
