Review #1392 | Scotch Review #482

Distiller: Blair Athol

Bottler: SMWS

Brand: SMWS

Selection: N/A

ABV: 58.1% ABV

Age: 8 Years

Nose: Rich cocoa, vanilla cream, custard and musty tobacco. Sticky toffee cake and cake batter.

Taste: Apples, pears, honey, vanilla and faint oak. Some heat, to pair with a medium mouth feel. Heat grows with time, as does the sulphur. Pepper.

Finish: Short, and hot. Apples, pears, vanilla, clove. Very bourbon-y on the finish.

Overall: Interesting but not super remarkable. It feels young, and the rechar is evident, in a way I don’t love.
