Review #251 – Springbank 10yr Marrying Strength Distillery Exclusive
Whiskey Network Review #251 | /r/Scotch Review #105- Springbank 10yr Marrying Strength, 97.8pf | 48.9% ABV
Nose: Doughy, honey forward and yeasty. lots of bakery sweets and a nice dash of springbank funk. There’s mild whiffs of sea air, thin pepper and a good dash of cambeltown smoke.
Taste: Thick and sweet. Lots of nice malty sweetness and some more good peppery, springbank funk. Its oily and savory and really quite bold. The extra kick in proof does great things and really brings the flavors out
Finish: Medium, no heat and filled with sweet malty goodness
Overall: I didn’t really know what to expect out of this bottle since I knew nothing about it until I read up on it after reviewing but I’m impressed by all that it brought to the table. Also a little bit sad, since it’s a distillery exclusive. It’s delicious, rich and bold and a great dram to try if you’re ever around Calbeltown. I’m giving this a Rank 7.
