**Review #397 | /r/Bourbon Review #227 – High West Rendezvous Rye, Ex-Boulevardier (Binny’s) **

The Schtick: Before it was laid to rest, High West did lots of awesome barrel finishes for their Rendezvous Rye line. This one spent time in an ex-boulevarder barrel and then was bottled.

Nose: Sweet and fruity. Funky spice here – cinnamon, clove, dill, potpourri. Kinda like Grandma’s bathroom, but in a good way. It’s sweet, fruity, floral. Smells very much like a cocktail, also.

Taste: Really nice mouthfeel. This is what I was hoping YKY would be like. Very tame head, stewed fruits, cherries, plums, apricot, cloves, cocoa. Really interesting blend.

Finish: Medium in length but gentle. Spicy, dilly, sweet, fruity. Lots of clove, but in a pleasant, earthy way.

Overall: I like this a whole lot, but it’s no Quady in my mind. I wish I had had a chance to snag one, though. Really delicious and really unique. Like I said before, it’s what I hoped YKY would be like.

Thanks for reading!
