Review #406 – Bruichladich Rest and Be Thankful 13yr
Review #406 | /r/Scotch Review #161 – Bruichladdich Rest and Be Thankful 13yr
The Schtick: A well regarded IB of Bruichladdich aged in ex-bourbon and bottled at cask strength.
Bottler: Rest and Be Thankful (IB)
ABV: 57.1% | 114.2pf
Age: 13 Years
Source: r/scotchswap sample
Nose: Smoke, salinity, BBQ. Apples and lemon meringue pie. RIbs, black pepper. Nice peppery sweetness.
Taste: Really thick. Nice mouthfeel and good proof. Sweet cream, vanilla, honey, lemon pie. Pepper and then the smoke rolls in. Total Laddie smoke – I could tell this miles away.
Finish: Long, hot, peppery and smokey. Big, laddie brashness.
Overall: Man, this is really something. Too bad these are such a pain to get over here. Phenomenal dram loaded with everything that a good, brash Laddie packs. The ex bourbon lends some really nice sweetness to the pepper and the punch. If my local bar had this for a reasonable price, I’d probably drink it all of the time.
