Review #56. Bookers 2015-03 Center Cut

Review # | /r/Bourbon Review # – Booker’s Center Cut (2015-03)

The Schtick: Booker’s is a Beam/Suntory product that is released unfiltered and at casks strength.

Distiller: Beam/Suntory

Bottler: Beam/Suntory

ABV: 63.6% ABV

Age: 7 Years, 2 Months, 28 Days

Source: Bottle, Purchased

Nose: Much like the previous Booker’s, there’s a massive overload of vanilla and molasses. I love this combo and it emanates from the glass pretty aggressively. It’s sweet and very savory. Good to see this hasn’t gone away from the other batches.

Taste: Vanilla. Molasses. Brown sugar and pepper. Of the three, this has the most ethanol burn. Whether it’s dis-proportional for an ABV this high, I”m not sure.

Finish: Medium to long. Hot, but not punishing. You know it’s barrel proof, but it doesn’t beat you over the head with it. Lots of sweetness on the way out.

Overall: Much like the other Booker’s, I love it. There’s a little variation but all of the usual suspects are there note-wise. All delicious.

Thanks for reading!
