Review #611 | /r/Bourbon Review #204 – Bruichladdich: The Organic
The Schtick: This was part of a blind mystery package that a buddy sent along. I sampled, posted my notes live in the Discord server and got the reveal so that I could fill in the pertinent information for this posting. Thanks, Post!
ABV: 46% ABV
Source: Mystery Sample
Nose: Honey, vanilla, faint brine. Lemon meringue. Faint, meaty BBQ.
Taste: Thick, rich, salty, faintly smoky. Really, really rich. Peppery is huge. Trump hairdo huge. Nice sweet vanilla buttercream is here also. Really nice, overall.
Finish: Long, sweet and loaded with ocean essence. Salinity is here in force, lots of lemon lime.
Overall: I think this is really great. I’m also pretty sure it’s Bruichladdich again. If I’m wrong again, I’ll be pissed. The lactic funk is such a giveaway, so we’ll see. Guessing 43% – 46%, refill bourbon, no wine finish. Lightly peated.
Reveal: Buichladdich: The Organic.
Thanks for reading!
