Review #72 | /r/Scotch Review #25 – Glenfarclas 12
ABV: 43% ABV
Age: 12 Years
Maturation: Sherry Cask
Mashbill: Single Malt (Barley)
Source: Bottle, Purchased
Nose: Grapes, sherry and sweet icing sweetness. Some vanilla and spice.
Taste: Caramel, red fruit. Mostly plumb and grape but there’s almost some dark chocolate raspberry in there as well. Some leather, allspice and dark chocolate.
Finish: Short but simple. It’s not trying to be something it’s not. chocolate, some spice and lots of fruity sherry sweet. I like it.
Overall: It’s no GlenDronach 12, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s a delicious introduction to the Glenfarclas line all the same.
