Review #826 | /r/Bourbon Review #446 – Big Bottom 3yr Bourbon

The Schtick: This is a bourbon that is contract distilled and bottled by Big Bottom in Oregon. It is listed as a straight bourbon, is 3 years old and is bottled at 45.5% ABV. It features a 36% rye mashbill.

This is day 5 in the Craft Whiskey Crackdown. It’s heating up again. Hoo baby.

Distiller: Undisclosed Contract Distiller

Bottler: Big Bottom (Oregon)

ABV: 45.5% ABV

Age: 3 Years

Source: Sample

Nose: Apples, vanilla, peach, caramel, faint oak

Taste: Thin, no heat. Corn, caramel, apple pie

Finish: Short, harsh, caramel, pears, pepper

Overall: No sign of young craft garbage notes. Not super complex, and rough, but way better than most craft 3 yr products
